Brand Identity & Visual System
Overview
Florida University Gate is a tutoring center that helps students in various subject areas and for specific exams, and now provides a wide range of services. They are seeking to establish a credible, approachable, and academically driven brand that communicates trust, expertise, and student success.
The Challenge
Despite offering comprehensive tutoring services, the organization lacked a cohesive visual identity. Their communication materials were inconsistent and did not reflect the professionalism or academic authority expected from an educational institution.
The challenge was to design a brand system that could convey trust and academic prestige while remaining approachable to students and parents.
Strategic Approach
The brand strategy centred around the idea of guidance through education. The identity needed to symbolize knowledge, mentorship, and the path toward academic success.
To achieve this, the visual language was designed to balance institutional credibility with modern accessibility, ensuring the brand felt established yet welcoming.
My Role
I was responsible for overseeing the entire project, from the initial stages until the final delivery. This included the brand strategy, logo design, visual identity, and marketing materials.
Design Direction
Brown was used to evoke warmth, reliability, and seriousness without being stuffy. The design of the torch was also chosen for its timeless association with education, mentorship, and intellectual development. The structured design, reminiscent of a university, gives the logo a sense of authority without being intimidating.
